Barbara Kruger is a conceptual artist best recognised for her subversive design work on feminism, women's identity politics and consumerism. We don't need another hero, says Kruger, who uses black and white photographs, red banners, and a single bold letter in one of the key instances of her reduced agitprop style, in which she portrays gender stereotypes enforced from an early age. This political art piece is reminiscent of Tina Turner's popular 1985 song, which was also included in the blockbuster film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
